Gamepocalypse 2013 ? Supporting The Wounded Warrior Project ...

Never Forget

Never Forget

The Wounded Warrior Project is something that is near to my heart. My grandfather served in World War 2, my father was a ?Green Beret? in the Vietnam war, my brother in law was in the special forces in the first Gulf war and many of my friends and family are and have been members of the military who have served, and in some cases, been wounded or killed in combat.

That?s why, when I heard about this upcoming charity event, I immediately volunteered FEZ and we threw our hats in the ring to sponsor this amazing community gathering.

I can?t think of a better way for gamers to give back to the men and women who have served so bravely while protecting our freedoms, and since many of the members of our gaming communities are also combat veterans, some of whom have been injured in the line of duty, it is very fitting that we all get involved.

At this point, a number of gaming communities, companies and groups are involved and have brought a number of prizes and auction items to the table. So far, the sponsors and communites involved are:

WoW- Bottomline Guild

GW2- BottomLine Guild

Rift- Bottomline guild

Planetside 2 outfits:

ZCompany

Agony

Black Widow Company

NoNonsenseGamers

Sons of Odin

Sponsors:

FleshEatingZipper

Bossrigs.com

At this point, Bossrigs is donating a custom gaming PC, which will be auctioned off. We also have Planetside 2 t-shirts, hoodies, posters, dog tags and stickers which will be raffled/given as event prizes, along with other goodies from other games and other companies.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 21st, from midnight to midnight and will feature a number of special events in all of the games which are covered. Prizes will be handed out for each event and items will be raffled off, with ALL profits going immediately to the wounded warrior project.

Wounded Warrior Project??(WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.

More information is to come as more events, more details and more goodies become available. Please keep checking back.
