The University of Mary Hardin Baylor's College of Business seeks an Assistant / Associate Professor for its Department of Accounting, Economics, & Finance beginning Fall 2013. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.
The Accounting, Economics, & Finance Department in the College of Business offers three undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree programs.
UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 18,000 in the heart of central Texas. Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.
Faculty Responsibilities: Activities required of all faculty include exemplary teaching, curriculum development and student advising; professional attainment; and service to department, college, university, and the community. While primarily a teaching institution, UMHB recognizes and rewards research, publication, and other forms of scholarly attainment.
Specific Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in Financial Accounting, Tax I, Tax II, Advanced Accounting, and related courses. Teach graduate courses in Accounting. Full-time faculty members typically teach 12 hours per semester with three course preparations.
Qualifications: Doctorate in Accounting is required; ABD will be considered (tenure-track status requires terminal degree in hand); professional certification and business experience is preferred. Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential. Must be an active, and committed Christian.
